The next time you are in Los Angeles, why not take advantage of one of the LA helicopter tours offered to visitors? These tours give you a look at the exciting city of Los Angeles by air. If you have contemplated seeing the city by limo, then why not add to the experience by arranging an air tour?

See Hollywood by Air

For example, many visitors want to see Hollywood up close. However, it is also fun to take one of the LA helicopter tours and see the expanse of the city below you as well. You can fly over such landmarks as Universal Studios, Sunset Strip, and the Playboy Mansion as well as numerous star homes and famous theaters. You also get to see downtown high-rises and an awesome view of the well-known Hollywood sign. If you want to go on a tour you will never forget, then you should book a time and see Hollywood by air.

When you go on such a tour, you also want to be armed with some interesting trivia about Hollywood itself. For example, did you know that the Hollywood sign was initially erected in 1923? At that time, though, it spelled out “Hollywoodland.” Plus, before the turn of the 20th century, no movie theaters existed in the Hollywood district in Los Angeles. At that time, they were banned.

The First Academy Awards

The Academy Awards event, which is an annual extravaganza, was first held in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1929. At that time, only 270 people attended the Hollywood affair, and only 15 trophies or Oscars were awarded. The first person to create a motion picture in Hollywood was D.W. Griffith. The film ran just over 15 minutes and was called “In Old California.”

As you can see, when you know some Hollywood history, it makes taking one of the LA helicopter tours that much more fun. If you plan to see the sights of Los Angeles anytime soon, don’t forget to add a helicopter tour to your travel itinerary.
