Whether to live on or off-campus is one of the biggest decisions that new college students have to make. While living on campus can be a great experience, dormitories are designed for a certain kind of student. Here are three types of students who should consider Purdue University off-campus housing.

Older Students

Most students who live in dormitories are in their late teens or early twenties. Living with much younger people can be awkward for students returning to college at an older age, and many dorms have an age limit for residents.

Students With a Spouse or Children

If you have minor children, you won’t be able to keep them with you in a dorm room. Although married students without children may live in a dormitory, they usually aren’t allowed to room together. It makes more sense for students who have their own families to live in an off-campus apartment where they can be together.

Graduate Students

Studying for an advanced degree requires a lot of time and focus, and graduate students tend to be older than undergraduate students. If you’re studying for your master’s or doctorate, consider choosing Purdue University’s off-campus housing.
