In 2019, Chevy made a big change to its iconic Blazer by turning it into a midsize crossover SUV. This year, the automaker expands on this popular model with some new features that make the new Chevy Blazer in Chicago even more desirable than last year’s Blazer.
New Engine Options
This year, Blazer buyers will have the option of a new souped-up turbocharged engine. Currently, the base model has a 2.4-liter I4 under the hood. It’s rated at 193 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a 3.6-liter V6 that is naturally aspirated and puts out 308 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. The turbocharged engine, which is only available on the middle-tier Chevy Blazers (2LT and 3LT models), is a 2.0-liter motor with 4 cylinders that gives you 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
New Hitch Guidance With Hitch View
These two features are new to the Blazer this year and provide unmatched towing and cargo-moving assistance. With Hitch Guidance, you’ll get a view of what’s directly behind the Blazer. With Hitch View, your view is of the actual hitch from a top down perspective. Both images are displayed on the Blazer’s infotainment screen and are easy to interpret. You can get these two features when you opt for their V92 towing package, which only comes with Blazers utilizing the 3.6-liter V6 engine.
Outstanding Returning Features
Although most of the 2020 Blazer’s features are not brand new, they’re still top-notch and exciting. For example, all levels of Blazer come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you’re willing to spend a little more, you can access a slew of safety features, such as forward collision alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and a surround-view camera.
